Kenneth Cranham
In Conversation With Malcolm Jones at the V&A Museum
HOW
IT ALL BEGAN
Malcolm
Jones graduated from University of London in 1980 and later took a
PGCE at University of Reading. He received an M.A in Text and Performance
Studies from RADA and Kings College London in 1993.
He was a founder member of Witsend Theatre Company which existed from
1980 to 1986 producing plays on the London and Edinburgh Fringe as
well as creating a TIE project with Shelter about the Homeless.
He worked with Blitz Theatre Company in Sweden touring in Shakerags
by Paul McCabe appearing as Ben Jonson. He also devised and ran workshops
teaching English through Drama.
He came back to England to take the M.A in Text and Performance and
later worked at the V&A Theatre Museum.
He also began lecturing as Artistic Director on theatre tours for
Road Scholar USA and London Arts Discovery Tours.
He led a programme of schools workshops for Ambassador Theatre Group
on Theatre Practitioners and long running shows such as The Woman
in Black and Blood Brothers.
Malcolm
currently lectures on theatre at the V&A, works for Age Exchange
Theatre Trust on reminiscence arts projects and is a freelance lecturer
and workshop leader
